Job Description

Built Alliance are once again to working with a well-established, multi-disciplinary construction consultancy to appoint an experienced Project Manager to be fully remote based across the West Midlands.

This position has come due to a very long term successful bid with the various local councils looking to manage a range of major residential new build and refurbishments across the local area.

Our client has a proud history in operating nationally for several decades and is highly regarded within the social housing and residential sectors, delivering a wide range of consultancy services across refurbishment, new build and improvement programmes.

Perfect position for a Project Manager with strong Employer’s Agent / Contract Administration experience to join a stable, reputable consultancy who likes the idea of a fully flexible, hybrid basis, taking ownership of projects across Birmingham and the wider Midlands, with full operational and administrative support from the central head office and team.

The Role

You will be responsible for managing a varied portfolio of residential-led schemes, including:

• High-rise recladding and refurbishment projects

• New build residential developments

• Planned maintenance, elemental works and improvement programmes

The role will involve a balanced mix of site-based inspections and home/office working, acting as the key point of contact between client, contractor and wider project stakeholders. Ideally you will be comfortable and experienced within these work requirements and my client are happy to consider Project Managers from either a surveying or architectural background.

Key Responsibilities

• Acting as Project Manager / Employer’s Agent from pre-construction through to completion

• Preparation of tender documentation, specifications and pricing schedules

• Administering building contracts and managing contract procedures

• Undertaking regular site inspections to monitor progress, quality and compliance

• Chairing and managing site and client meetings

• Liaising closely with contractors, consultants and client project officers

• Assisting with interim valuations and payment recommendations

• Ensuring compliance with Health & Safety and CDM Regulations

• Quality control of contractor workmanship

• Managing project administration and reporting

• Leading handover inspections and close-out documentation
